Dr. Mathavan’s area of special interest is general and advanced laparoscopic cases including hernias, gallbladder, colon, anti-reflux and solid organ surgery. He also performs EGD, colonoscopy, and ERCP. He is also skilled in Robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery for gallbladder, colon, and ventral hernias; including single-site cholecystectomy. His expertise includes surgical oncology. He performs tumor debulking and heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy for advanced cancers. He is also involved in teaching surgery residents and medical students.
